About the role

The Synthetic Organic Chemist in the Semiconductor Technologies Lithography group at Qnity is responsible for the design, synthesis, and analysis of small molecules, monomers, and polymers for semiconductor applications. This role involves working closely with R&D formulation teams and development engineering for scale-up and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesis, design, and development of small molecules, monomers, and polymers for semiconductor application
  • Application of knowledge of multistep synthetic organic chemistry
  • Participation in multifunctional teams to drive new product development from concept shaping and validation to scale-up and commercialization
  • Create and secure intellectual property for Qnity
  • Analyze analytical and performance data
  • Organize and share data, write technical reports and presentations
  • Network within the Qnity organization and external networks to identify potential technology leads and new innovations for Semiconductor Technologies Lithography
  • Critical Success Factors: Demonstrated record of achievement in technical role, demonstrated ability to innovate and define new approaches, excellent organizational and project management skills, business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of performing in a fast-paced, customer-focused business unit

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of safe laboratory practices and methodology
  • A Ph.D. in chemistry
  • An understanding of polymer and small molecule design and synthesis with a proven track record of accomplishment is desirable
  • The position also requires an understanding of analytical methods including polymer and film characterization techniques (GPC, IR, NRM, MS, TGA, DSC, AFM, XRR, XPS, etc.)
  • Excellent and diverse synthetic expertise

Qnity offers a comprehensive pay and benefits package, including a base pay range of $99,120.00 - $155,760.00 Annual How Base Pay is Determined: Qnity has job leveling frameworks that help organize roles based on progressive levels of responsibility, proficiency and qualifications. Each role has an associated pay range (or an established pay rate for some roles) based on the competitive market in each country where we operate. Each individual’s pay is based on a variety of factors, including their role and the associated pay range for that role, their geographic location (i.e., country, state, metropolitan area), as well as their skills, experience, education and certifications, and performance.
