About the role

Working as a customer support scientist in the OEM business technology team, you will develop and maintain cost-effective, high-quality products for our customers. This involves understanding Axalta’s formulating practices, customer specifications, and test methods, collaborating with operations to seamlessly transfer products into production, and adhering to quality procedures to ensure continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply Axalta’s formulating practices, customer specifications, and test methods.
  • Collaborate with operations to transfer products smoothly into production.
  • Follow quality procedures to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in coatings science, formulation development, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of coating chemistry, polymer science, and material properties.
  • Experience with product development, process optimization, and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab).
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
