Redhill Academy Trust Pay Scale, Band 8 Scale Point 36 - 40 Actual salary: £9,375.49 to £10,166.02) per annum (FTE: £28,305.58 to £30,692.30) - Pay Award Pending 14.5 hours per week - Permanent - Term time only The Role Brookfield Community School is seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Senior Science Technician to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education. Working closely with the Head of Science and teaching staff, you will support the work of staff and students in the school’s laboratories and classrooms, ensuring that practical lessons are well-prepared, safe and efficient. This is an excellent opportunity for someone organised, proactive and passionate about supporting science education. Key Responsibilities The Successful Candidate Will Work closely with science teachers to support teaching and learning across Key StagesPrepare, set up and clear away equipment, chemicals and materials for practical lessonsEnsure laboratories, prep rooms and classrooms are safe, organised and well-maintainedOversee stock control, ordering and storage of equipment and resources Maintain accurate records, including health and safety documentationSupport the development of practical activities, including testing and preparing experiments Lead on health and safety requirements (e.g. COSHH, CLEAPSS guidance) Provide guidance and support to other technicians where appropriateLiaise with science staff to ensure resources meet curriculum needs The Ideal Candidate We Are Looking For Someone Who Has experience working in a school laboratory or similar environmentHas strong organisational and time management skillsDemonstrates a good understanding of laboratory health and safetyIs able to work independently and as part of a teamHas a proactive, flexible and solution-focused approachIs committed to supporting students and staff to achieve the best outcomes Why Join Us?
