Senior SAR Imagery Scientist

Responsibilities

Aid the SAR lead in evaluating differences between new sensor features and current platforms.

Evaluate variations in metadata, data formats, and structures affecting database, schema, API, and ETL processes during data integration.

Determine methods for acquiring new data, including latency considerations, data formats, and security domains.

Prepare data for standardization to align with existing standards or transform it for labeling and model testing, potentially involving file format conversions or image tiling.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience, with a BA accounting for 4 years and a MA/MS accounting for 6 years.
• At least 4 years of experience as a SAR expert, with knowledge of collection, phenomenology, image formation, and exploitation products.
• Experience with SAR imagery quality metrics and sensor metadata that influence geometric phenomena.
• Proven ability to exploit SAR imagery to identify and locate objects of interest.
• Effective communication skills to explain SAR imagery products, methodologies, procedures, and algorithms to diverse audiences.
• Understanding of remote sensing principles and advanced exploitation methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA) in relevant field (e.g., Remote Sensing, Computer Science, etc.)
• Master's degree (MA/MS) in relevant field (e.g., Remote Sensing, Computer Science, etc.)

Skills

• Expertise in SAR imagery and its applications.
• Knowledge of CV and machine learning (ML) techniques applied to SAR imagery.
• Ability to analyze and interpret SAR imagery data.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
