Dover Precision Components delivers performance-critical solutions for rotating and reciprocating machinery across several markets, including oil & gas. The sales territory covers Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Western Kansas, with the ideal home base in the Oklahoma City area.

About the Role

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to drive sales, quality, and performance for our aftermarket products. With strong gains available through new clients and increased market share, you’ll play a key role in the future development of Cook Compression. Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze target growth segments in the territory, understanding their size, key market drivers, and competitive requirements.
  • Facilitate and develop new relationships with end users of reciprocating compressors.
  • Execute Account Management Plans to retain and expand compression aftermarket business with existing customers.
  • Maintain a strong, visible sales pipeline with appropriate tollgate points for soliciting, screening, product proposal, pricing, and follow-up.
  • Lead the sales process from Discovery through Order Placement/Project Kick-off and oversee Order Execution to ensure customer commitments are satisfied.
  • Build customer relationships with key decision makers to communicate Voice-of-the-Customer needs and accelerate the purchasing decision process.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company, driving a clear customer focus and favorable market position.
  • Develop and monitor bottom-up and top-down multi-year sales forecasts, communicating insights to key finance and management functions.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with customer service, engineering, and production departments at Cook Compression.
  • Support Lean/Continuous improvement efforts within Sales processes.
  • Assist Finance with the resolution of outstanding payment issues.
  • Monitor competitor activity and respond accordingly.
  • Manage conflict resolution matters as they arise.
  • Travel within the territory to support customers, up to 15% overnight travel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in sales and/or product expertise in critical reciprocating compressor components.
  • Strong industrial and technical background, with a track record of value selling into key end users and aftermarket providers from the Oil & Gas/Chemical Industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency to support the customer base.
  • Ability to understand customer problems and develop solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills—ability to interface with customers at all levels internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated competency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong negotiation and analytical acumen.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive within the territory (up to 25% travel; truck provided).

  • Existing relationships with current customer base in EPCs, reciprocating compressor packagers, refineries, and/or chemical plants.
