Job Responsibilities
- Generating top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations within the applicable business markets
- Soliciting, prospecting, qualifying leads and identifying new corporate accounts and clients from cold calls, sales blitzes, and other sources
- Developing and maintaining an active and visible position in the local community
- Negotiating contracts and generating proposals to yield maximum revenue
- Maintaining accuracy and thoroughness of key account/key prospect database
- Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required
- Participating in select sales activities both on and off property
- Coordinating and conducting periodic pricing reviews
- Maintaining open communication with Corporate Office
- Focusing on prospecting new accounts, which may be users of other regional, national and international destinations
- Entertaining existing and potential clients
- Participating in business review meetings
- Organizing and conducting pre-function meetings with clients and the operations team
- Assuring accurate execution of client events
- Maintaining room inventory and rate programs
- Following up on all leads
- Conducting site inspections with potential clients
- Attending and participating in property and industry sales meetings
- Attending and participating in CVB events, AAA events, bridal shows, trade shows, etc.
- Maintaining close relationships and developing a positive rapport with tourism accounts, business associations, and community leaders
- Monitoring competitive set to maintain proper positioning
- Establishing relationships with competitors to ensure referral opportunities
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years of progressive hotel sales experience
- Knowledge of hospitality/hotel market trends, competition, and key customers of the hotel
- Strong sales skills, strong written and verbal communication, and customer service skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Exceptional customer service skills required
- Excellent communication and presentations skills required
- Leadership, driving, and bottom line-oriented personality
- Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of PMS systems
