About the role
We are seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives in a 450,000 sq. ft. distribution facility supporting approximately 2,000 employees.
Responsibilities
- Lead all site-wide safety programs and initiatives
- Evaluate current safety processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Review, update, and implement safety policies, procedures, and SOPs
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
- Ensure OSHA compliance across all warehouse operations
- Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
- Develop and facilitate safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management teams
- Partner with operations leadership to improve safety performance and reduce risk
- Build a strong safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, and visible leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of Safety Managers, Safety Specialists, and Safety Coordinators
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience
- Extensive experience within warehouse, distribution, logistics, e-commerce, or 3PL environments
- Experience supporting large employee populations (approximately 2,000 employees)
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Strong knowledge of: OSHA regulations and compliance, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Forklift and Powered Industrial Truck safety, Conveyor and material handling systems, Electrical and machinery safety, Incident investigations and corrective actions, Safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance programs, Safety training and Train-the-Trainer programs
- Strong communication, coaching, and presentation skills
Qualifications
- OSHA certifications (CSP, ASP, or other recognized safety certifications preferred)
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant safety experience and certifications are highly valued
