Senior Roadway and Bridge Inspector
About the Role
RK&K is seeking talented Senior Roadway and Bridge Inspectors to work in the Nashville area, focusing on providing construction engineering inspection services for transportation projects.
Responsibilities
- Work on various roadway and bridge projects within the region’s geographic area
- Oversee contractor’s quality control operations
- Perform quality assurance sampling and testing
- Complete Daily Sampling and Testing Reports
- Input data in SiteManager/LIMS
- Maintain daily communication with client, contractor, and field project personnel
Requirements
- 10+ years of prior experience providing Construction Engineering Inspection services
- Solid background in mathematics
- Ability to read and follow test specifications
- Excellent driving record
- Experience supervising teams of Inspectors and/or Site Management
Preferred Qualifications
- TDOT Asphalt Plant Technician
- TDOT Concrete Field Technician/ACI Grade 1
- TDOT HMA Certified Roadway Inspector
- Aggregate Technician
- TDOT Concrete Plant Technician
- Nuclear Gauge Field Technician
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites, including:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Navigating uneven terrain
- Climbing ladders or stairs
- Lifting and carrying inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds occasionally
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions and exposure to construction-related hazards
