About the Role
Matrix Research, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior RF Engineer to lead complex RF test and measurement initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a technical lead for advanced antenna ranges, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems, and high-power microwave test cells.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for antenna and Radar Cross Section (RCS) measurements within test ranges.
- Design, build, and field measurement systems.
- Lead production and experimental measurements using state-of-the-art measurement equipment.
- Manage large, diverse efforts including facility upgrades, resource allocations, and subcontractor coordination.
- Develop requirements and manage the acquisition of equipment for RF test lab expansions and facility moves.
- Resolve complex electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues.
- Perform precision alignment of reflectors and feeds using optic properties.
- Custom fabrication of mounts from mechanical drawings.
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering field.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive experience with network analyzer-based measurement systems, instrumentation radars, and positioner/cable management systems.
- Active Security Clearance.
- US citizenship capable of maintaining a US DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of specialized coursework in RCS and other measurement areas.
- Background in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Background in radar signal processing with advanced knowledge of signal processing techniques related to radar measurements and radar-based imaging (SAR, ISAR, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of radar waveform design and optimization.
