Senior Revenue Cycle Business Analyst
Under the direction of the Director Analytics System, the Senior Revenue Cycle Business Analyst is responsible for developing standard reports that serve the needs of business users. This role plays a key role in projects across revenue cycle functions, focusing on data analysis to inform management, drive accountability, and guide business decisions. Works directly with project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements, locate data sources, develop financial models, and create presentations to inform senior management.
Responsibilities
- Develops, tests, and deploys standard reports and dashboards based on business requirement document specifications.
- Works collaboratively with Business Systems Analysts and/or directly with key business users to ensure business requirements and report specifications are documented accurately and completely.
- Incorporates data from multiple sources in evaluations, including hospital and physician billing systems, budget systems, cost accounting systems, and general ledger.
- Leads or participates in special projects requiring research and analysis, potentially partnering with other business areas to identify and resolve issues.
- Conforms to hospital standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights, to provide the best possible customer service and patient care.
- Utilizes the hospital’s behavioral standards as the basis for decision making and to support the hospital’s mission and goals.
- Fosters collaboration across the team and other revenue cycle stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives.
- Takes the lead on special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates strong critical thinking and innovation to drive analytics and reporting toward modern, industry-standard technologies.
- Applies predictive and prescriptive analytics to revenue cycle metrics, focusing on denials management, AR optimization, and cash forecasting.
- Develops predictive models to prioritize work queues and design root cause analysis frameworks.
- Translates and communicates key analyses and assumptions concisely to Senior Management for decision-making purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Health Informatics, finance, or a related field of study.
- Master’s Degree in Health Informatics, Business, Public Health, or a related field preferred.
- Epic Revenue Data Model (Clarity) Certification required.
- 3+ years of related managed healthcare or insurance operations experience.
- Excellent understanding of Hospital Billing and Professional billing data.
- Demonstrated expertise with SQL, Crystal Reports, and Tableau.
- Expertise with relational database concepts, data modeling, and OLAP technologies.

- Advanced data analytics and governance expertise to develop, maintain, and standardize certified datasets for Revenue Cycle KPI metrics.

- Excellent computer skills, including experience with General Ledger Systems, spreadsheet, and word processing software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and other analytical tools).

Pay
Compensation range: $78,000.00 - $113,000.00. This range offers an estimate based on minimum job qualifications. Base pay is determined by a broad range of factors including education, experience, skills, certifications/licensures, business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market competitiveness. The range is based on Boston-area data and is subject to modification based on geographic location.
