About the role

The Senior Resident Service Coordinator (Sr. RSC) develops and coordinates support services for residents. The Sr. RSC ensures resident and community success through close work with property management, clinical leadership and care coordination, building and sustaining relationships with local and regional partners, planning programs and other on-site opportunities for residents, and working one-on-one with residents to assist them in achieving their goals and maintaining housing stability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the property in creating and implementing programs, partnerships and services that meet the needs of residents and fulfill any obligations based on property financing.
  • Serve as the lead wellness and service coordination point of contact with Project PLASE, the on-site Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) partner, ensuring clear referral pathways, shared care plans, and coordinated interventions for residents with complex behavioral health, medical, or housing stability needs.
  • Support the property management staff related to high-risk residents, crisis situations, and complex service needs.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Area Resident Service Manager (ARSM), RSC colleagues, corporate staff and Property Management team.
  • Assess and coordinate resident referrals and resources by recommending solutions to resolve resident issues impacting their life and refer them to suitable community services, resources and entitlement programs, as appropriate.
  • Create partnerships with local organizations to successfully implement community engagement initiatives including implementation of required contracts.
  • Aid elders or those at-risk, and non-elderly residents with disabilities to maintain living independently through collaboration and coordination of programs with wellness nurse/health care agency to address common health concerns such as, fall prevention, nutrition, grief and loss, medication management, dealing with incontinence, healthy weight loss, brain health/improving cognitive functions and general social-emotional wellbeing.
  • Coordinate resident support and resources on housing stabilization issues such as late rent payments, housekeeping, and other lease violations.
  • Collaborate with property management team to develop program budgets that reflect needs of the resident population and that comply with program finance obligations.
  • Use Beacon’s data collection and analysis systems to document services provided to residents and outcomes achieved.
  • Track and monitor the property’s Community Engagement budget.
  • Process reasonable accommodation requests for residents with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the property management team and attend weekly meetings as required.
  • Respond to resident crises, including behavioral health emergencies, in coordination with clinical providers, emergency services, and property management.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Experience working with older adults, and issues relating to isolation, health and wellness and other social determinants of health.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use, and/or chronic health conditions, including Permanent Supportive Housing models.
  • Experience working with chronically homeless veterans, including familiarity with VA systems, veteran benefits, trauma-informed care, and housing stabilization strategies for veteran populations.
  • Experience working with youth and families and issues relating to workforce development, youth enrichment, education, and asset building.
  • Ability to understand and respect values, attitudes, and beliefs that differ across cultures and to respond appropriately to these differences with residents in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and services.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage and support a team to implement programs and services in a changing landscape.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to, residents, senior staff, volunteers, interns, and community partners.
  • Ability to collect, track and understand data to assess programs and partnerships and inform strategies.
  • Proficiency with technology and an interest in learning how to integrate new technology-based tools and resources into programming.
  • Operate in a timely manner, with consistency and a high level of integrity and professionalism; provide excellent customer service to residents and partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and interest in motivating and energizing staff.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving and writing skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and other computer programs.
  • Knowledge of Yardi, Property Management databases, Resident Connect is a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies affecting housing is a plus.
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings is required.

Qualifications

  • Required: Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Minimum of four years of experience as a Resident Service Coordinator in housing or equivalent work experience.
