Senior Research Technician - Anesthesiology
About the role
The Njoku lab focuses on immune-mediated liver injury, aiming to uncover modifiable mechanisms related to susceptibility. Recently, the lab has been keenly interested in diseases associated with extrahepatic manifestations, as well as molecular and immunological mechanisms that contribute to disease.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs complex analysis/projects according to research protocols, explaining methods and procedures to other technicians.
- Enters data and maintains current data files on research projects.
- Maintains consistency in data quality through monitoring.
- Performs preliminary statistical analysis of data.
- Maintains compliance with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Safeguards lab conditions and equipment by ensuring they are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
- Affords technical support and training to technicians, acting as a group leader.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
Education
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
