Senior Research Manager, Ultrasound AI
Roles and Responsibilities
The Research Manager (RM) leads a cross-functional team to develop the research strategy, based on the overall business strategy for Ultrasound Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence. The RM is responsible for ensuring the research portfolio supports the business focus and the individual study results are being utilized and delivering impact. The RM will engage and support clinical and technical sites research in their studies and contribute in technical development to support research needs.
Based on your strong understanding of the business strategy, product portfolio, and roadmap and innovation plans and your clinical and technical expertise you will collaborate with Business General Manager, Chief Engineer and engineering teams, Director of Product Management, Marketing Director, Clinical Manager, Regulatory Affairs, Legal/Compliance, Central Research Organization, academic institutions, and GE Global Research to develop comprehensive research strategies and plans.
You lead the decision making for prioritization and resource allocation across the full research portfolio, including identifying research opportunities that will deliver impact and support business strategy.
You will seek out academic partners well-suited for a GEHC partnership. You will understand their strengths, collaboration interests, and how their work could support the research strategy.
You will define product strategic research needs from business planning sessions, utilizing feedback from product development team.
You respond to and assess incoming research proposals.
You will develop NPI specific evidence strategies and plans including evaluation plans.
You will partner with the Research Program Integrator (RPI) to support execution on research studies.
You support the utilization of research results and assess their impact.
You will continuously measure impact and value to business of the individual studies and the full research portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in life science, engineering, clinical field, or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in medical research and product development
- Experience in working with AI development in ultrasound imaging
- Strong experience in engaging with academic and clinical research partners
- Proven research experience in a clinical setting, industry, or government agency
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with GXP practices, research or device manufacturer regulations, research processes, or NPI cycles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
