About the Role

This leadership role oversees and designs advanced experiments in cancer genomics, with a specific focus on non-coding RNA in ovarian and breast cancers. The Senior Research Investigator will assist the principal investigator, develop a research program, and play a crucial role in all aspects of research projects, including development, implementation, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and presentation of findings.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis and other aspects of quantitative, qualitative, and theoretical research.
• Review, edit, format, and write manuscripts for publication and grant proposals.
• Assist with and often direct the design and implementation of original research projects.
• Perform data collection and management, including literature reviews.
• Oversee laboratory operations, workflow, and productivity of lab personnel.
• Provide training to lab personnel on specific techniques as necessary.
• Assess proposed projects by conducting feasibility studies to evaluate viability, efficiency, timeline, and study design.
• Present research findings through various forums.
• Other research and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience.
• Expertise in cancer drug development, animal care, molecular and cellular biology, tissue culturing, RNA-seq/ChIP-seq, and bioinformatics analysis.
• Proficiency in writing manuscripts and grant proposals.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other program leaders.
• Capability to manage all aspects of research projects.

Position is contingent upon funding.

Pay

Salary offers range from $36,368.00 to $94,753.00 annually, based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal and market factors, and grade profile.
