Research Investigator, Senior
About the role
The Research Investigator, Senior (SRI) leads, oversees, and designs advanced experiments. They assist the Principal Investigator and play a leading role in developing a research program in the advancement of upper respiratory epithelial defenses. They must have substantial experience in the growth and manipulation of primary human epithelial cultures and analysis of infection of primary cultures with respiratory pathogens, and experience with confocal microscopy, cilia beat frequency analysis, and immunologic assays, including flow and flow sorting.
Responsibilities
- Leads, oversees, and designs advanced experiments.
- Assists the Principal Investigator and plays a leading role in developing a research program in the advancement of upper respiratory epithelial defenses.
- Assesses proposed projects by conducting feasibility studies to provide valuable input regarding viability, efficiency, timeline, and study design.
- Supervises and performs the project, including overseeing workflow and productivity of lab personnel and providing training to them on specific techniques as necessary.
- Responsible for data analysis, preparation of manuscripts, and presenting research findings through various forums.
Qualifications
- M.D., Ph.D., and 5-7 years of post-doctoral experience required.
- Highly advanced professional discipline.

- Independently prepares manuscripts and grant writings for submission.

Pay
$80,891.00 - $108,725.54 Annual Rate
