About the role
The Senior Research Financial Analyst will support FBRI's sponsored program operations under the direction of the Director of Sponsored Research. Key responsibilities include award setup, compliance monitoring, reporting, and closeout of sponsored research projects.
Responsibilities
- Award setup and compliance monitoring
- Outreach and training projects coordination
- Interacting with faculty, staff, and students in contract negotiation
- Reading and dissecting sponsor solicitations and requirements
- Communicating award and reporting requirements to faculty and award team members
- Reviewing transaction and project level spending
- Developing and maintaining spending models
- Working with sponsoring agencies as needed
- Collaborating with the university Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to meet all university and sponsor award requirements
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement complex regulations, procedures, and compliance standards
- Experience working in a complex regulatory environment
- Proven experience in budget development
- Prioritizing and managing large volumes of work to meet deadlines
- A strong commitment to customer service
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
- Experience in an academic research environment
- Experience with federally funded research programs, especially NIH
- Experience in research grant and contract administration
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent training, experience, and certification
- Experience in research grant and contract administration
- CRA or other applicable professional certification preferred

Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience. Overtime status: Exempt - Not eligible for overtime. Appointment type: Restricted. Review date: April 1st, 2026.
