Senior Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we should map content to those headings. We have company description (maybe not needed as heading). The role description: we can put under About the role
. Responsibilities: Responsibilities
with list. Requirements/Qualifications: combine Professional Experience & Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications maybe under Qualifications
or separate Requirements and Qualifications? The list includes About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to include sections only when posting has real specific content. We have Pay: salary range given. Benefits: mentioned healthcare coverage, annual incentive program, retirement benefits and a broad range of other benefits. Schedule: not mentioned. Skills: maybe we can include under Qualifications or separate Skills section? Could put software proficiency etc under Skills. But we must not create thin sections. Let's decide: Use About the role (summary), Responsibilities (list), Qualifications (combined experience and preferred), Skills (software proficiency etc), Pay (salary range), Benefits (list). Avoid Schedule as not present.
We must preserve all substantive information, not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to include all details from responsibilities, qualifications, preferred qualifications, etc. Also include company description? The instruction says do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it) and do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it. Company description may be considered minor metadata? It's about the company; maybe we can include as a short paragraph under About the role? Or we could include a separate
About the company
but not in allowed list. Better to incorporate into About the role paragraph. We must remove boilerplate: equal opportunity, privacy notice, recruitment staffing agencies, etc. Also remove "About Flagship Pioneering" maybe considered boilerplate? It's descriptive but not required; but it's substantive about company background. Might keep as part of company description? However it's lengthy; but we need to preserve ALL substantive information. The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we must keep the Flagship Pioneering description? It's part of the posting. It's not boilerplate; it's about the company's backing. So we should keep it. Where to place? Could be under About the role or a separate section like "About the Company". Since allowed headings list doesn't include About the Company, but we can still use for any section heading; the examples are just examples. So we can use About the Company
. That's fine.
Similarly, we have "About Flagship Pioneering" which is a subsection; we could keep under About the Company.
We must remove the privacy notice, equal opportunity, recruitment staffing agencies lines, and maybe the "Compensation and benefits information is based on..." that's okay to keep as part of Pay/Benefits.
We must not include application instructions (like "please apply anyway" maybe considered boilerplate? It's encouraging but could be considered part of EEO? Might be considered boilerplate; but it's not a legal notice. However it's a generic statement; maybe we can keep? The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The line "We recognize that great candidates often bring unique strengths without fulfilling every qualification. If you have some of the experience listed above but not all, please apply anyway." is an application instruction (encouraging to apply). So remove that.
Also remove "Recruitment & Staffing Agencies: ..." entirely.
Also remove "Privacy Notice for Applicants: ..." entirely.
Also remove "At Flagship, we accept impossible missions..." maybe part of About Flagship Pioneering; keep.
Now craft HTML.

About the Company
Abiologics, Inc. is a privately held, early-stage biotechnology company on a mission to make biology better through an innovative therapeutic modality. We are pioneering the development of Synteins™, a transformational class of macromolecular medicines unlocked by novel synthetic and computational technologies. Abiologics was founded in Flagship Pioneering’s venture creation engine, where companies such as Moderna Therapeutics (NASDAQ: MRNA) and Generate Biomedicines were conceived and created. Since Flagship’s founding in 2000, the firm has originated and fostered the development of more than 100 scientific ventures resulting in more than 500 issued patents and more than 50 clinical trials for novel therapeutic agents.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated, broadly skilled Senior Research Associate to join our growing Pharmacology team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on execution of rodent in vivo studies as well as coordination of studies with contract labs to support the progression of Abiologics’ pipeline. The incumbent may also contribute to in vitro and ex-vivo pharmacology activities to progress projects and the platform, including molecular and cell biology assays and histology. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with a diverse design-make-test team across Abiologics and have the opportunity to impact platform and company growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in vivo (mouse) studies to characterize and assess the function, pharmacokinetics, and biodistribution of SynteinsTM, with increasing ownership of study design and interpretation.
- Perform hands-on dosing of mice (including intravenous and other routes) and isolation/processing of mouse blood and tissues.
- Comply with IACUC regulations regarding animal welfare and care.
- Collect and prepare tissues for histology, including fixation and embedding.
- Execute and optimize lab procedures such as tissue lysis and cell isolation, ELISA, Western blot, RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, and related cell/molecular biology assays supporting in vivo studies, including some cell culture.
- Coordinate with CROs to support the execution of external in vivo studies, including formulation and shipment of compounds.
- Analyze, interpret, and accurately document study and assay results in an electronic lab notebook and present findings in internal meetings.
- Apply troubleshooting and data analysis skills to resolve issues and improve study quality and throughput.
- Collaborate with the Pharmacology team and cross-functionally to support lead optimization and platform advancement.
Qualifications
BS in Biology or related discipline with 5–7 years of relevant research experience, or MS with 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
- Well-established, independent experience with rodent in vivo dosing and handling techniques with expertise in multiple routes of substance administration (e.g., PO, IP, IV, SC) and ability to efficiently execute study protocols involving multiple blood collection time points.
- Experience in tissue dissection and preparation for RNA, protein analysis, and histology, including fixation and embedding.
- Demonstrated ability to execute or learn various molecular and cell biology techniques, such as ELISA, Western blot, qPCR, cell-based functional assays, and flow cytometry.
- Proficiency with software such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, and PowerPoint for experimental documentation and data analysis/presentation.
