Position Summary
Under direction, assists with supervision of the day-to-day research operations and the coordination of clinical research projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates research and clinical care for patients as needed under the direction of department administration and physicians.
- Oversees the recruitment and enrollment of study participants.
- Develops and implements recruitment strategies.
- Affirms patient eligibility for inclusion in clinical trials.
- Ensures proper consent protocols have been followed for study participation.
- Assists in the development of research designs.
- Performs statistical analysis of research data and summarizes project results; prepares articles, reports and presentations.
- Conducts literature reviews and internet and library searches to gain expert familiarity with protocols that will be used as templates.
- Independently performs all data collection, entry, and analysis.
- Assists in preparation of materials and submissions to Institutional Review Board; assists with grant application process.
- Assists with manuscript preparation and editing.
Education
High School Diploma
Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred. Approximately 2 years of prior experience in a health-related clinical or research setting.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Experience with conducting and carrying out protocols and research coordination.
- Familiarity with IRB interaction, regulatory policies, database input and report generation.
- Research experience in an academic health center with exposure to a team research environment at all levels (senior investigators, nurses, research coordinators, lab technicians).
