Position Summary

Under direction, assists with supervision of the day-to-day research operations and the coordination of clinical research projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates research and clinical care for patients as needed under the direction of department administration and physicians.
  • Oversees the recruitment and enrollment of study participants.
  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies.
  • Affirms patient eligibility for inclusion in clinical trials.
  • Ensures proper consent protocols have been followed for study participation.
  • Assists in the development of research designs.
  • Performs statistical analysis of research data and summarizes project results; prepares articles, reports and presentations.
  • Conducts literature reviews and internet and library searches to gain expert familiarity with protocols that will be used as templates.
  • Independently performs all data collection, entry, and analysis.
  • Assists in preparation of materials and submissions to Institutional Review Board; assists with grant application process.
  • Assists with manuscript preparation and editing.

Education

High School Diploma

Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred. Approximately 2 years of prior experience in a health-related clinical or research setting.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Experience with conducting and carrying out protocols and research coordination.
  • Familiarity with IRB interaction, regulatory policies, database input and report generation.
  • Research experience in an academic health center with exposure to a team research environment at all levels (senior investigators, nurses, research coordinators, lab technicians).
