Senior Remediation Geologist
About the role
This Opportunity WSP is looking for a Senior Remediation Geologist for our Oakland, CA office. We are looking for a candidate with experience in consulting, selling, managing, designing and implementing Environmental Multi-media Remediation programs for a variety of clients in the Industrial, Government, Energy, Oil & Gas and Transportation sectors. Someone who is excited and motivated about the opportunity to help expand our environmental consulting business in California and the West.
Responsibilities
- Perform oversight, mentorship and direct the efforts of staff- and project-level geologist and scientists
- Aid in the preparation of technical reports and proposals
- Successfully interact with Local Business Leader, Office Manager, Sector Lead, other Senior-level employees in the office and firm-wide
- Manage multiple projects, being responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved
- Travel to project(s) as needed, for the execution of project goals and business development
- Meet project delivery goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geoscience or related science field
- 5-7 years related environmental remediation and sales experience
- Strong work ethic
- Self-starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board and other CalEPA Programs
- Consulting experience with petroleum contamination cleanups in soil and groundwater including free floating products (LNAPL) AND/OR chlorinated solvent contamination consulting experience for remediation of soil and groundwater
- Consulting experience in soil gas and vapor intrusion issues
- Developing and managing complex environmental remediation projects
- Oversee remediation construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project work
- Pass physical, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy
- Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam
- Successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Qualifications

Skills
- Master’s Degree is preferred
- California Professional Geologist (PG) registration
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired
