About the role

The Senior Registration Associate provides oversight and support of workflow and functions in accordance with level of experience, education, and standards. This colleague assumes an expanded role and increased responsibility including delegating to others and participating in the development and process improvement of policies and procedures. The Senior works closely with leadership to maintain efficient and effective operations to ensure quality in daily operations, and may partner with leadership with the selection, orientation, and performance feedback of the team. Additionally, the Senior Registration Associate works cooperatively to ensure that key customer needs are being met and that operational and performance goals are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates operational, technical, and/or clerical support services that enhance or improve coordination, preparation, and flow of the department process and core work.
  • Plans and organizes workflows and prioritizes customers’ needs.
  • May lead a small team; serves as a mentor.
  • Creates and maintains procedural standards and records as appropriate for role.
  • Develops and maintains educational programs for the team members, including new employee orientation.
  • Utilizes multiple system applications for data collection and management.
  • Incorporates basic knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices, and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, and safety are prioritized.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and ability to readily acquire new knowledge.
  • Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency and patient experience.
  • Helps to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead the team through resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent / GED
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with competency in patient access, pre-service, and/or registration experience.
  • Ability to obtain a national certification in HFMA CRCR and/or NAHAM CHAA within one (1) year of hire.

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

  • Previous Leadership Experience
  • Knowledge of federal or state government agencies including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, VA, or Charity Care programs, or patient management and healthcare accounts receivable within the revenue cycle.

Pay

$21.20 – $31.90 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
