Senior Registered Nurse (DOH/SATC #30574)
Salary: $36.43 - $54.65 hourly / $75,775 - $113,663 annually. This position is a Pay Band C10 and may be used for ongoing recruitment.
About the role
This position will provide comprehensive medical and psychiatric nursing care for a group of approximately thirty-six (36) adolescent male residents at a Mental Health Treatment Center. Duties include treating and educating patients, administering medication, and providing highly specialized nursing care and emergency care as needed.
Crisis Prevention Intervention and Trauma Informed Care are the cornerstone of treatment at Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center. De-escalation techniques and coping mechanisms are offered to residents, and life skills are taught to assist with success upon discharge.
Customers
Our facility is a secure facility serving adolescent males ages 13-17 with a history of violence and/or aggression.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience:
- Working with electronic medical records
- Providing nursing care and assessment
- Working with psychiatric clients
Requirements
- Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico
- Three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification
- Must possess and maintain a Nursing license and a valid Driver’s License
- Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors
- May work in an office setting using related office equipment, with exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage
- Involves pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying
