Salary: $36.43 - $54.65 hourly / $75,775 - $113,663 annually. This position is classified as Pay Band C10 and is a continuous posting for ongoing recruitment.

About the Role

The Center for Access and Linkage to Health Care (CALHC) in the Public Health Division provides public health services through Public Health Offices (PHO) and mobile clinics statewide. Public Health Nurses deliver programs such as communicable disease investigation, tuberculosis and STD screening, immunizations, and family planning.

This Mobile Public Health Nurse will lead clinical and public health interventions on newly funded mobile units, targeting persons experiencing homelessness and other underserved groups in rural, frontier, urban, and tribal areas.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for mobile units, including driving, maintenance, and scheduling with regional staff and external partners.
  • Deliver priority public health services within the scope of a Registered Nurse, following clinical protocols and standing orders.
  • Maintain quality assurance for clinical services, such as tracking refrigerator temperatures and managing CLIA clinical notebooks.
  • Report outreach events using approved data systems like RedCap.
  • Provide services in Public Health Offices (PHO) when mobile units are not in operation.

Requirements

  • Current or eligible license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, including temporary licensure for specific employment.
  • Three years of experience relevant to the essential duties of the role.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience leading public health interventions for communicable diseases or other priority areas.
  • Experience providing health services in non-traditional settings, such as community venues or mobile units.

Skills

  • Critical thinking and ability to work autonomously.
  • Systems approach and team collaboration, including participation in statewide emergency response.

Working Conditions

  • Extensive computer usage, including Electronic Health Records.
  • Driving and working on a 25' mobile public health unit.

Pay

$36.43 - $54.65 hourly / $75,775 - $113,663 annually.

Additional Information

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
