About the Role

This position provides specialized nursing care for adult patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders at Turquoise Lodge Hospital, a facility offering substance abuse treatment services including medical detoxification, social rehabilitation, and Intensive Outpatient services. Employment may qualify for student loan forgiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and monitor patient vitals
  • Address detox symptoms and provide patient education
  • Perform daily documentation and electronic charting
  • Implement and evaluate treatment plans and medication effectiveness
  • Cover for charge nurse as needed
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Schedule

  • Night shifts: Wednesday (4 hours), Thursday–Saturday (12 hours each)
  • May require weekends, holidays, and overtime

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure, or a temporary "Permit-to-Practice" issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico
  • Three (3) years of experience relevant to the essential duties of the classification
  • Valid Driver’s License and current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico (or willingness to obtain as a condition of employment)
  • Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training
  • Must include license or certificate number in the "License" section of the application form

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • Working with patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders
  • Developing and monitoring patient care plans
  • Electronic charting
  • Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team

Working Conditions

  • Rehabilitation hospital setting with long periods of walking, sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Exposure to potentially violent patients in volatile situations
  • Office environment with extensive use of computers and phones

Employment Requirements

  • Designated as a safety-sensitive position; subject to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing
  • Employment is conditional pending a nationwide criminal background check

Pay

$36.43 - $54.65 hourly ($75,775 - $113,663 annually). This position is classified as Pay Band C10.

Benefits

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply.
