Responsibilities

  • Managing local staff and teens to implement a calendar of impactful, high quality, fun and dynamic programs.
  • Mentoring teens and providing leadership training throughout the school year.
  • Sustaining and strengthening programming and engagement for chapter and regional teen leadership.
  • Recruiting and training a team of volunteer advisors.
  • Building a robust member recruitment process that expands the pipeline of prospects, aligns stakeholders, and prepares teens to invite other teens to join BBYO.
  • Cooking up and coordinating large scale regional conventions and community-wide events.
  • Managing and balancing a major programmatic budget and contracts.
  • Seeking out and cultivating relationships with parents, alumni and community partners to mobilize more people to grow and support BBYO.
  • Participating in organizational projects, teams, and summer programs as assigned to expand the movement and strengthen teen leadership.
  • Leading teen leadership programs at summer camp.
  • Flexing your creative muscles by executing new and noteworthy programming.
  • Analyzing and utilizing data to drive decision making.
  • Global thinking as you work with an international team across organizational and geographical boundaries.
  • Connecting BBYO to the greater Chicago community.
  • Assisting with fundraising efforts and relationship building across multiple communities.

Requirements

Essential Skills For Making a Lasting Impact:

  • Experience: 5+ years of work experience
  • Education: A bachelor's degree or higher
  • Abilities: Management experience preferred. Experience with youth or teens is required
  • Must reside in Chicago, IL area
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the region, to organization-wide events and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the U.S. for 2-3 weeks each summer
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends) when teens are available
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship

Pay

Salary Range: $73,000-$84,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible to earn a performance-based bonus tied to the achievement of established metrics.
