About the role
The Garrett Group is seeking an experienced Senior International Affairs Analyst with extensive interagency, Combatant Command (CCMD), and international policy expertise. The ideal candidate will bring deep regional knowledge of the Indo-Pacific, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven record of operating effectively in complex, multinational environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert analysis, policy recommendations, and strategic guidance on international affairs issues affecting U.S. national security interests.
- Support interagency coordination, CCMD planning, and policy development efforts.
- Conduct research, prepare briefings, and deliver assessments on Indo-Pacific regional dynamics, security trends, and partner-nation engagements.
- Engage with senior leaders, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate information sharing and policy alignment.
- Support overseas engagements, exercises, and advisory missions as required.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning and development of international security initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of interagency and/or CCMD desk officer experience focused on international affairs.
- Minimum of 3 years of overseas experience.
- At least 6 years of experience working on European affairs.
- A master's degree or higher is required; at least one degree (bachelor's or master's) must be in international affairs, economics, or a closely related field.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting senior government officials, military staff, or diplomatic missions.
- Strong writing, briefing, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work within fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environments.
