Responsibilities

• Assist in the repair and overhaul of refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment to meet customer needs efficiently and accurately
• Provide service by repairing and overhauling equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical/mechanical control devices
• Perform general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machines, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors
• Conduct preventative maintenance by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operating deficiencies to ensure quality performance
• Process job tickets and work orders in a timely manner
• Provide training to new or less qualified technicians as needed
• Maintain proper truck inventory and drive company vehicle safely
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience
• Trade or technical school classes
• Valid EPA certificate
• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical
• Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical systems
• Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets (a strong plus)
• Knowledge of single systems, rack systems, display cases, and walk-in boxes
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. without assistance
• Ability to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Proficiency with typical business tools including email, Word, and Excel
• Ability to understand and follow company policies, procedures, and all applicable state and federal laws
