Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems
- Handle complex technical issues and provide guidance to junior technicians
- Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of refrigeration equipment for commercial or industrial clients
- Repair and overhaul equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices
- Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills
- Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history
- Perform general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment (e.g., air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machines, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, electric motors)
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities; diagnose equipment malfunctions and operating efficiency of mechanical equipment
- Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups of new installations

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience, and trade or technical school classes
- Passed Tech Skills level 6 with an 80% or better
- Valid EPA certificate
- 6+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical
- Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets (strong plus)
- Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, including work on display cases and walk-in boxes
- Knowledge of I/O network with board power
- Ability to troubleshoot lost board, no response alarm, and fan failure alarm
- Knowledge of suction pressure transducer for Comtrol, E2, RMCC, and Danfoss
- Knowledge of all boards and input devices in an EMS and their functions
- Knowledge of a Hansen rod
- Knowledge of the operation of a condenser bypass panel and VSD
- Ability to perform proper inverter maintenance
- Knowledge of evaporative condensers and indoor humidity sensors
- Ability to verify a store is properly pressurized
- Ability to verify heat staging, operation, anti-sweat operations, and exterior lights operation
- Knowledge of floating suction operation for E2 and Danfoss systems
- Ability to demonstrate proper PPE and safety equipment
- Knowledge of level 2-5 experience/information
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws
- Proficiency with typical business tools including Email, Word, Excel, etc.
