About the Role

The Senior Ready-Mix Sales Representative is responsible for all sales and sales-related activities in the assigned territory, including customer care, monitoring market trends, forecasting, and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed annual business/sales plans for the assigned territory with the sales team.
  • Create and deliver effective and timely proposal presentations and RFP responses.
  • Understand established models for pricing and proposals.
  • Source and develop customer referrals and relationships.
  • Gain and maintain a reputation for sound business acumen with business owners and decision makers.
  • Track current trends in the national and local economy and understand their impact on the local ready-mix market.
  • Compile detailed competitive and industry information.
  • Provide required mix design submittals.
  • Proactively maintain open communication regarding customer requirements and expectations with plant, dispatch, quality, and management personnel.
  • Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.
  • Provide timely reports, such as monthly activity reports and expense reports.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Share expertise and experience with other sales team members.
  • Attend industry-related events.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, preferably in the construction materials industry.
  • Ability to spontaneously discuss industry, market, and product knowledge with a variety of audiences.
  • Strong formal presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive decision-making as appropriate.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Team-player both internally and externally.
  • Mid-level skill level with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Clean driving record for the last five years.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree preferred.
  • Preferred experience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments, etc.).
  • Preferred background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products.
  • Familiarity with CRM and customer contact databases.
  • Familiarity with ERP-SAP.

Pay

Salary range: $95,000 to $115,000.

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA-regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
