Senior React Native Developer
About the role
You will design, build, and optimize high-quality cross-platform mobile applications that deliver exceptional user experiences across iOS and Android platforms. As a valued member of the engineering team, you will collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable mobile solutions. This is a hybrid role based in Louisville, KY, supporting a healthy work–life balance through wellbeing programs.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and modern frontend technologies.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to transform wireframes and visual designs into responsive, user-friendly mobile experiences.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and external services to support business functionality and seamless user interactions.
- Ensure code quality through adherence to development best practices, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues, crashes, and device compatibility challenges while supporting Agile development practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing mobile applications using React Native.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with state management frameworks such as Redux or Context API.
- Solid understanding of REST API integration and third-party SDK implementation.
- Experience working with native modules and React Native bridging concepts.
- Knowledge of mobile application architecture, debugging, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Skills
These will help you stand out:
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, or Detox.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile application delivery.
- Understanding of mobile security best practices and application monitoring tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern backend integration patterns.
Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 – $135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
