Senior React JS developer

About the role

You will build responsive, scalable, and high-performing web applications that deliver intuitive user experiences. As a valued member of the application development team, you will collaborate with designers, developers, and other stakeholders to transform business and design requirements into reliable front-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop new user-facing features and web applications using React.js, Redux, and GraphQL.
• Build reusable React components and front-end libraries that support consistency, scalability, and future development.
• Translate designs and wireframes into clean, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and supporting services.
• Optimize application components for maximum performance across web-capable devices and modern browsers.

Schedule

Hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Minneapolis, MN. Working arrangements may change based on project or business requirements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in React.js and a strong understanding of its core principles, component architecture, and reusable development patterns.
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience developing web applications using React and popular state-management workflows such as Redux.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of front-end build tools, development pipelines, browser compatibility, and performance optimization.

Skills

These will help you stand out:

• Experience working with GraphQL in production web applications.
• Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JSON Web Tokens.
• Experience designing or maintaining reusable front-end component libraries.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot front-end performance or integration challenges.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay

The annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and applicable plan terms.
