Senior Radiation Test Engineer
About the role
Amentum is a trusted partner to United States government agencies, allied governments, and corporations worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Effects Subject Matter Expert to join our team at Amentum.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering decisions based on radiation effects on overall system performance.
- Design and harden systems across multiple radiation effects, including dose rate, total ionizing dose (TID), neutron displacement damage (NDD), and single event effects (SEE).
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure radiation hardening is maintained across the product lifecycle.
- Assist in test plan development and review.
- Review Reports.
- Participate in Radiation Review Boards.
- Help generate templates and guides.
- Aid in developing training materials and tools for new hires.
- Assist with testing efforts, test station setup and validation and verification efforts.
- Collaborate on program requirements and provide feedback on approach to meet requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant field.
- 10+ years of Radiation Engineering, electronic component testing, or related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
- Please note that US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering.
- 10+ years of radiation engineering experience with the Department of Defense.
- Has a current Secret or Top-Secret DoD security clearance.
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Salary Range: $120K - $190K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Compensation Details: $120,000 -$180,000 annually
