About the role

Our Connectivity Solutions (Dura-Line, LLC.) plant in Clinton, TN is seeking to hire a Senior R&D Extrusion Technician who will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting the R&D extrusion line used to produce Plastic Conduit, MicroDucts, & FuturePath.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the extrusion equipment according to product specifications, including installing die head, sizing sleeves, screws, and tooling
  • Operate single-screw R&D extrusion lines, ensuring proper startup, steady operation, and shutdown
  • Adjust extruder parameters such as temperatures, speeds, pressures, and cooling systems to maintain product quality
  • Diagnose and correct issues like die buildup, material contamination, inconsistent melt flow, or equipment malfunctions
  • Inspect extruded products for dimensions, appearance, and structural consistency
  • Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify that products meet specifications
  • Record test results and make necessary machine adjustments to correct defects
  • Forklift operation and maintain good housekeeping standards
  • Provide solutions to extrusion problems in situations atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice and existing precedents or procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of extrusion experience preferred; experience working with polymers, plastics, or resins is a plus
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to complete technical documentation and written reports

Pay

The compensation for this position will typically range from $42,000 - $77,500 per year. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
