Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage corrective actions status in IQMS.
  • Support cross-functional team to identify root causes of nonconformances and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Report corrective action status at biweekly meetings, including quality alerts, cost summaries, control of non-conforming processes, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Support and perform statistical analysis for new product development studies.
  • Complete IMDS for automotive customers.
  • Complete and/or coordinate calibration requirements for all gages used within the facility; maintain calibration records.
  • Operate CMM, VMM, calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other inspection gages; visually inspect parts, products, or components for defects.
  • Train operators in the use and handling of hand gages.
  • Plan and perform product/process and internal system audits.
  • Support audit readiness for customers, third-party, and regulatory audits.
  • Record audit findings and track corrective actions.
  • Perform Receiving Inspection and maintain material certification library.
  • Assist with updates and maintain quality instructions for the manufacturing process.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provide recommended improvements to management.
  • Provide support to Quality Engineering using statistical methods to analyze data to evaluate current processes and process changes; prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
  • Support the Lean Manufacturing initiatives of the company.
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and practices of the company.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in a quality-related position in a manufacturing environment is preferred (education and skills may be considered).
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of corrective action methodology, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and applicable quality and compliance standards (ISO, IATF, etc.).
  • Blueprint reading skills, including GD&T basics.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and English to Metric conversions.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively read, comprehend, and create instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Advanced computer proficiency in a Windows environment, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Prior experience with IQMS or related integrated manufacturing software systems is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to learn new software programs as needed.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to customers and offsite training.
  • Ability to provide support for a three-shift manufacturing facility during emergencies.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the office work environment is low and is usually moderate in the production work environment.
