Senior Quality Engineer - Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, GA – Direct Hire – $85,000 - $115,000 / yr + benefits & paid relocation to the Southern USA

About the role

Our automotive client is recruiting a Senior Quality Engineer to provide quality support to production operations, ensuring product integrity with the goal of zero defects. This team-focused company takes pride in its quality image, product performance, and customer service.

You’ll proactively lead all product development and launch activities, including design reviews, DFMA reviews, DCP reviews, customer and supplier visits, and DV/PV testing. You’ll manage system quality requirements, new product development, and process changes, while supervising quality technicians and auditors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Process Control plans
• Drive cycle time improvements, inventory reduction, scrap reduction, MRO costs, and labor costs
• Identify improvement opportunities and develop proposals
• Provide and implement training for mistake-proofing throughout the manufacturing process
• Spearhead Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Manage supplier relationships and advanced quality planning

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or similar discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in a Quality role in the automotive industry
• Proficiency with automotive Quality tools: QS-9000, TS-16949, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, Process Flow, and Corrective Actions
• Experience with Problem Solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, 8-D)
• Knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection, and techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office and typical QA software
