Job Duties
- Designs, develops and implements tests and statistical control procedures to achieve quality specifications for manufacturing processes.
- Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, tests, and integration to assure quality of assigned product or component.
- Designs, develops and implements sample techniques, control charts, pareto diagrams and any other aspects of statistical process control (SPC) and problem solving.
- Counsels and coordinates Engineering changes.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during QA activities.
- Communicates issues or developments identified during QA activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
- Develops new product quality plans, as part of participation on cross-functional product development teams.
- Leads special projects as assigned.
- Interfaces with customers.
- Conducts on-site analysis and implements corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or related field of study and 5 years of progressive experience in Automotive Quality Assurance.
- Employer will accept 10 years of experience in Automotive Quality Assurance, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5 years of progressive experience.
- Demonstrated Experience With Applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) (including control charts and process capability analysis) to characterize process behavior, evaluate stability, decision m aking and problem solving, through Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and capability analysis in the automotive industry.
- Working with Minitab.
- Performing internal auditing functions for quality systems required by customers, applying IATF and ISO9001.
- Engineering system auditing principles.
- Identifying issues and weaknesses in the manufacturing process and driving improvement.
- Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, Core Tools, and SPC.
- Problem Solving (8D and RCA).
- Automotive customer portal system management.
- Automotive manufacturing processes such as welding, extrusion and injection molding.
