Eaton’s IS AER FED division is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer within 50 miles of Middlesex, NC. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); all applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.

About the role

The Senior Quality Engineer manages quality assurance resources to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements. Assists the Quality Manager to provide total quality leadership to customers, suppliers, and all internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Quality Engineering assignments such as contract review, manufacturing support, PPAP, auditing, and corrective action investigations with minimal supervision.
  • Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.
  • Lead improvement teams in the development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions, and process audits.
  • Ensure development, implementation, and audit of complex inspection and test plans, standards, acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.
  • Participate in and/or lead the auditing of internal Quality Systems and complete part approval documentation to assure customers’ requirements are met in new or modified products and processes.
  • Lead or provide technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects or problem-solving teams.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
  • Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Assist in designing and implementing Quality Assurance training programs and conduct training in quality-related topics.
  • Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization and the organizational freedom to resolve matters pertaining to quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of quality engineering experience.
  • U.S. person status (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) due to ITAR requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, industrial, or mechanical engineering (preferred).
  • 2 years of hose manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • 5 years of quality engineering experience (preferred).
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (preferred).
  • Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification (preferred).
  • Quality audit experience (preferred).

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 – $126,000.
