About the role
The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer strengthens Tower’s Quality Management System through disciplined process execution, robust SPC (Statistical Process Control) governance, stable material disposition/MRB (Material Review Board)/CCB (Change Management)/8D Problem-Solving systems, and best-in-class customer quality support. The role ensures compliance with industry regulation, customer standards, and Tower’s corporate quality policies while driving data-based decision making and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve procedures, control plans, FMEAs, and risk assessments. Ensure fab compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and ISO/IATF standards.
- Support customer, corporate, and certification audits; drive sustainable corrective actions.
- Lead SPC/CPK monitoring and process performance improvement. Analyze trends using statistical tools and escalate systemic risks.
- Maintain high discipline across SPC, CCB, 8D problem-solving, and material disposition quality systems.
- Lead 8D/RCA investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions effectiveness. Prevent recurrence through systemic fixes and improved detection controls.
- Coach engineering teams on structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Support technology transfers and reliability validation for new technologies (inline/PCM/reliability data). Ensure NPI flows meet Tower stage gate expectations.
- Act as QA focal point for key customers; support audits and escalations. Provide clear, data-driven responses to customer issues.
- Align with global Tower QA teams on standards, lessons learned, and best practices.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Engineering (Materials, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or similar).
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
- Quality, Process, or Integration engineering experience in a semiconductor fabrication facility, automotive industry, or similar preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FMEA, control plans, risk assessments, SPC/CPK, and 8D/5-Whys/Fishbone tools.
- Excellent communication and ability to work with multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Background in semiconductor fab (integration, process, device, reliability).
- QA industry certification (such as ISO/IATF Lead auditor) preferred.
- Experience with customer audits and customer-facing quality roles preferred.
