About the role
Amphenol High Speed Products Group, a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to serve as the technical quality leader for assigned products, programs, customers, and manufacturing processes. The role applies quality engineering principles to translate customer requirements into risk-controlled designs, capable processes, effective qualification strategies, and sustainable production controls that support successful launches and long-term operational performance.
Responsibilities
- NPI Quality and Program Leadership: Lead quality planning and risk management from concept and feasibility through EVT, DVT, PVT, production release, launch, and sustaining production; define quality deliverables, qualification tasks, ownership, timing, and acceptance criteria; provide fact-based go, conditional-go, or no-go recommendations at program and production readiness reviews; serve as trusted quality advisor to Design, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Reliability, Supply Chain, Program Management, suppliers, and customers.
- Customer Requirements and Quality Planning: Lead Voice of the Customer capture and translation into measurable product, process, qualification, reliability, and compliance requirements; ensure end-to-end traceability from VOC and specifications through CTQ/CTF identification, DFMEA, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plans, inspection plans, validation, and production monitoring; lead quality planning activities including APQP, qualification planning, PPAP where applicable, FAI, workmanship standards, metrology planning, and change control; represent Quality in customer reviews, audits, assessments, escalations, and corrective action discussions.
- Risk Management, Reliability, and Prevention: Lead and facilitate DFMEA, PFMEA, risk assessments, and control strategy reviews; challenge assumptions and drive meaningful risk reduction; ensure critical and special characteristics are identified, flowed down, measured, controlled, and supported by capable processes and measurement systems; evaluate product, process, supplier, material, tooling, test, and engineering changes for quality and reliability impact; capture lessons learned and institutionalize preventive controls across future programs, products, and sites.
- Statistical Methods and Process Capability: Plan, perform, review, and interpret MSA, Gage R&R, SPC, Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk, Cmk, DOE, hypothesis testing, regression, sampling, and trend analysis; analyze yield, cycle time, throughput, defect, reliability, supplier, and customer data to identify variation, systemic risk, and improvement priorities; define inspection methods, measurement requirements, capability expectations, and escalation criteria for critical product and process characteristics; use Minitab, Excel, Power BI, QMS data, and approved AI-enabled analytics to improve decision quality and execution efficiency.
- Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Lead complex cross-functional investigations using 8D, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree, Pareto, and other structured methods; ensure containment protects the customer while root cause analysis addresses the verified technical and systemic causes; approve and verify corrective and preventive actions, effectiveness checks, recurrence prevention, and lessons-learned deployment; drive improvements that reduce customer escapes, defects, scrap, rework, cost of poor quality, and launch risk.
- Quality Systems, Audits, and Compliance: Support and improve the Quality Management System and applicable ISO 9001, customer-specific, statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements; lead or support product, process, system, supplier, and customer audits; ensure findings are addressed and effectiveness is verified; develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, quality standards, checklists, templates, and governance processes; promote disciplined documentation, data integrity, configuration control, and audit readiness.
- Technical Leadership and Organizational Capability: Mentor and develop Quality Engineers, technicians, and cross-functional team members in quality tools, risk-based thinking, and prevention methods; develop and deliver advanced training on FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, MSA, SPC, root cause analysis, qualification, and quality systems; standardize and scale best practices, reusable tools, digital methods, and lessons learned across programs and manufacturing sites.
