Senior Quality Assurance Manager - Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL) - Patuxent River, MD
About the role
Works with senior management to maintain Quality Assurance and safety programs, including policies, processes, procedures, and controls. Ensures contract performance conforms to established standards and Government agency guidelines, guaranteeing lasting customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manages/supervises Contractor Aircraft Quality Control Inspectors
- Conducts quality and safety inspections/audits of contract operations and subcontractors
- Prepares QA/Safety/Hazardous Waste programs, manuals, and revisions
- Responds to customer concerns and tracks corrective actions
- Acts as a direct representative to the local Navy point of contact
- Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and disseminates safety-related bulletins, technical changes, and literature to work site personnel
- Investigates mishaps and injuries and oversees the technical library
- Ensures compliance with company programs, FAA, Government directives, airworthiness directives, and aircraft configuration
- Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and disseminates safety-related bulletins, technical changes, and literature to work site personnel
- Monitors quality deficiencies and coordinates corrective actions
- Qualified as a Competent Person for Fall Protection Program
- Excellent in oral and written communication skills
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline
- At least eight (8) years of experience in any combination with the following areas; Quality Assurance/Improvement, ISO-9000, and /or Safety & Environmental Compliance
- At least two (2) years of Management experience preferred
- In-depth knowledge of quality management, concepts, techniques, tools, and procedures
- Complete knowledge of aircraft logs and records
- Knowledge of project planning, management skills, proven leadership ability
- Ability to assume responsibility for the overall quality of the Contractor maintenance effort in accordance with the NAVAIRINST 3710.1G
