About the Opportunity
The Senior QA Specialist plays a key role in formalizing and executing the software quality assurance program. This position is responsible for embedding quality practices across development teams and ensuring that products meet rigorous standards. The role contributes by creating structured QA frameworks, driving continuous quality improvements, and partnering with development teams to prevent defects and enhance product reliability.
Responsibilities
- Implement the software quality assurance framework including manual, automated, functional, and performance testing.
- Use Azure DevOps for QA processes such as test planning, work item tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with developers, delivery leads, and analysts to integrate QA early in the development lifecycle.
- Conduct hands-on testing, validation, and regression testing.
- Develop and maintain reusable test case libraries, templates, and documentation standards.
- Establish release readiness criteria, defect triage procedures, and quality metrics.
- Recommend and pilot test automation tools and frameworks.
- Mentor development teams in QA best practices and assist in recruiting and onboarding QA/Test Engineers.
- Continuously improve QA workflows to reduce defects and time-to-release.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years in software quality assurance or testing, with at least 3 years in a senior or specialist role.
- Experience in building or maturing QA programs in multi-team settings.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps Test Plans, work item management, and CI/CD integration.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern SDLC practices.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with influence capability.
- Able to work in unstructured environments and create new QA systems and standards.
- Collaborative and mentoring skills.
- Attention to quality balanced with innovation speed.
- Systems thinking approach.
- Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform and/or AutoDesk-based engineering tools.
- Experience with performance/load testing and defect analytics.
- Background in software development or scripting for test automation.
- ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Familiarity with AEC industry terminology.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
