About the Team
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Fidelity Prime Services. Our products offer clients the tools to serve their securities financing needs, including short coverage, margin financing, and long lending. The team’s initial focus will be on developing test plans, test cases, test execution, and automation. We also seek candidates with additional development skills to contribute to database development, Java, or UI development. Candidates must have brokerage trading industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the product owner and Tech Project Manager to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with developers to understand the technical implementation of the product and review their code.
- Develop and maintain automation code for regression testing.
- Reproduce, debug, and isolate problems, and verify fixes.
- Ensure quality control standards are followed by your squad.
- Create and maintain automation scripts using Cucumber/Selenium.
- Develop test plans and test cases covering critical paths and edge cases.
- Mentor other team members.
Requirements
- Solid experience testing brokerage industry financial applications.
- Test automation experience using a BDD framework built with Cucumber/Selenium.
- Experience running automation in a CI/CD pipeline.
- Experience working in an Agile Software Development Lifecycle.
- Strong SQL experience—ability to write and execute complex queries.
- Brokerage trading industry experience (required).
Skills
- Middle-tier coding using Java (a plus).
- Front-end development using Angular or JavaScript (a plus).
- Backend development skills—Oracle SQL (a plus).
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fluid organization where priorities shift in response to business needs.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills to identify root causes.
- Collaboration across local and distributed teams.
- Clear, succinct communication and relationship-building.
Schedule
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $80,000–$153,000 per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package; the offer may also include bonus or other variable compensation for eligible roles.
