Senior QA Engineer

About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Quality Engineering Lead to help build an enterprise-wide quality assurance platform for a leading financial services organization. This is not a role focused on testing individual applications. Instead, you will help design and deliver a scalable, reusable QA capability that serves the whole organization.Working closely with the Director of QA, you will shape testing standards, frameworks and tools across unit, integration, front-end and platform testing. A key part of the role is managing external delivery partners and making sure their work fits the organization's target architecture and long-term technology direction.Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise QA PlatformHelp design, build and evolve an enterprise QA platform that gives consistent, scalable quality coverage across the technology estateSet standards and best practices for unit and integration testing across development teamsLead front-end test automation strategy and execution using tools such as Playwright, Cucumber and SeleniumDrive platform-level testing across APIs, databases, file ingestion, scalability and performanceVendor & Delivery ManagementManage relationships with external testing and delivery partners, holding them accountable for quality, timelines and outcomesMake sure vendor solutions align with the organization's target architecture and standards, rather than the vendor's preferred approachChallenge external partners with confidence and constructive input when proposals or deliverables don't meet architectural or quality expectationsAct as the onshore technical lead, directing and coordinating offshore delivery teamsCollaboration & LeadershipPartner with engineering, architecture and product teams to build quality into the delivery lifecycleProvide technical guidance and mentorship on test automation and quality engineering practicesReport on quality metrics, risks and platform maturity to QA leadershipWhat You'll BringSignificant experience in quality engineering or test automation, including building QA frameworks or platforms at enterprise scaleHands-on expertise with front-end automation tools such as Playwright, Cucumber and/or SeleniumStrong experience with API, database, data/file ingestion and performance testingA solid understanding of unit and integration testing practices and how they fit into CI/CD pipelinesProven experience managing vendors and external partners, including holding them to agreed architecture and quality standardsExperience leading in an onshore/offshore delivery modelExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence both internal teams and external partnersPreferredExperience in financial services or insuranceExperience setting up quality engineering capabilities from scratch or transforming existing QA functionsWhy Join UsThis is a chance to shape how quality is delivered across an entire enterprise.
