Senior Public Safety Wellness Manager

About the Role

The Senior Public Safety Wellness Manager oversees and directs the Public Safety Wellness Unit. This stand-alone unit reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and requires specialized clinical training and experience to effectively support first responders from the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and train peer support members
• Hire clinicians and oversee the Police and Fire Peer Support Teams
• Coordinate mental health resources and serve as the liaison between first responders, the Police and Fire Chiefs, and the Municipal Court Director regarding Marshals
• Administer workers’ compensation
• Coordinate Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) interventions and other mental health services
• Conduct initial assessments to determine appropriate referrals
• Develop wellness programs such as yoga for first responders, biofeedback, EMDR, stress inoculation training, and other assigned initiatives
• Supervise licensed mental health clinicians, including performance evaluation, clinical quality assurance, and professional development

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field from an accredited university
• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in the mental health field, including a minimum of three years of management experience and three years working directly with first responders
• Experience with psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, service coordination, case management, skills training, counseling, and crisis intervention
• Valid state-issued driver’s license
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist
• CISM certification, or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire
• EMDR training
• Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC) or equivalent experience working with first responders
• Biofeedback training or the ability to obtain it

Pay

Pay Grade GG32 / Full pay range $9,431 - $13,294 per month
