SENIOR PSYCHOLOGIST (HEALTH FACILITY) (SPECIALIST)
Job Description and Duties
Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least one (1) permanent, full-time Senior Psychologist (Specialist) – Neuropsychologist in the Clinical Services (Medical) Department.
The successful incumbent will have the ability to provide direct patient care that includes comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and cognitively informed treatments for our criminally and civilly committed psychiatric patients in an inpatient state hospital setting. In addition, the position includes leading cognitive remediation treatment, managing the hospital's psychological assessment materials, identifying and implementing neuropsychological services in innovative ways, providing consultation to hospital staff, conducting program evaluation, and leading neuropsychologically related staff trainings.
The successful incumbent will also directly supervise psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, and psychology practicum students in addition to developing and leading didactic experiences for trainees. Experience with neuropsychological assessment and neurobehavioral syndromes is required. Experience in cognitive remediation is preferred. Experience conducting forensic evaluations is preferred. Experience providing training, consultation, and supervision is preferred. Experience conducting psychological assessment and providing psychological treatment to individuals with severe mental illness is preferred.
Qualifications
Direct patient care is required for this position. Telework may be available on a limited basis subject to hospital and operational needs. Travel within the state of California is not routine but may be required.

Applicants must possess a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology and possession of an earned Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from an educational institution meeting the criteria of Section 2914 of the Medical Board of California's Business and Professions Code AND either: a) One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Psychologist (Health Facility) (any specialty), or Staff Psychologist (any specialty) OR b) Two years of postdoctoral, post-internship experience in neuropsychology involving assessment, treatment, research, consultation, and/or program planning in neuropsychological services.
