Duties

  • Direct training and clinical/administrative supervision of subordinate staff psychologists as assigned.
  • Perform the most difficult psychological evaluations and associated treatment of inmate-patients.
  • Aid in program development and evaluation, research, training, clinical consultation, and revision of department policy and procedures.
  • Function as a specialized psychological consultant to the institutional staff upon request.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Valid California Psychological Internship Certification (PCIC).
  • At least five years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a correctional setting.
  • Experience in conducting psychological evaluations and treatments.
  • Knowledge of correctional psychology principles and practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with inmates, staff, and other professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Benefits

This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent. Recruitment and Retention Bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with California Correctional Health Care Services.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $114,000 to $161,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
