About the role
The Senior Property Manager at Avison Young is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of an assigned asset. Key responsibilities include financial oversight, relationship building with tenants, and day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain assigned asset, ensuring all income is collected and expenses are controlled.
- Build and maintain relationships with tenants to solve problems and improve tenant satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with lease agreements and landlord obligations.
- Prepare and submit monthly and annual reports to owners and asset managers.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for properties.
- Coordinate tenant and customer relations and manage communications.
- Assist in new and renewal tenant leasing processes, including obtaining cost estimates and coordinating tenant improvements.
- Review and approve tenant improvement plans and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Inspect properties regularly and implement necessary programs to maintain standards.
- Manage personnel and ensure manpower needs are met with qualified staff.
- Oversee general projects and ensure buildings are maintained to industry standards.
- Finance and personnel management tasks as outlined in the job description.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, real estate, or finance.
- Four to seven years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of financial terms and principles.
- Experience with Yardi and Kardin accounting software.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to express ideas clearly in writing and verbally.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Real Estate License (to be obtained within 90 days of commencement).

- Ability to resolve tenant, employee, and management issues.
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
