This role functions as a scheduling system and process technical lead, managing and overseeing planning and scheduling operations for large, complex projects. You’ll focus on scheduling analysis, risk mitigation, and claims avoidance while mentoring team members and leading training efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate full competency in system scheduling tools and best practices.
  • Manage scheduling and planning efforts, including processes during project and program development and execution.
  • Understand and apply contractual and project requirements to project schedules and processes.
  • Lead and ensure schedule data-integrity efforts in accordance with best practices and company standards.
  • Produce and distribute tailored schedule reporting to meet project-team needs.
  • Independently build project schedules from conceptual designs through 90% contract documents, including commissioning and startup sequencing.
  • Manage the full scheduling cycle, including actualizing, updating, reports, narratives, time impact analysis, and fragnet schedules.
  • Lead communication efforts regarding the schedule to project teams, subcontract partners, clients, and internal leadership.
  • Apply change-impact management and guide project teams as changes arise.
  • Execute Basis of Schedule reporting for each project and present it to the project team.
  • Utilize resource and cost loading as required by policy and support project teams with forecasting data.
  • Demonstrate full comprehension of schedule analysis and disseminate schedule data to the project team and Scheduling Manager.
  • Proactively manage schedules with risk mitigation and report to project teams, market leadership, and the Scheduling Manager.
  • Lead and assist with the development of training in scheduling best practices, processes, and tools.
  • Perform peer review of schedules for integrity, quality, and best practices.
  • Ensure completion of quality schedules and progress reporting while providing direct reporting to the Scheduling Manager.
  • Develop, mentor, manage, and supervise schedulers.
  • Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) methodologies to evaluate change orders and time extensions.
  • Attend safety training and orientation to ensure safety is properly applied while visiting project sites.
  • Maintain OSHA 10 training certification and actively participate in the Haskell Safety Matters Program.
  • Travel as necessary to lead and support scheduling efforts.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences.
  • Lead and support continual improvement of scheduling practices and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise others.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in engineering or construction management, eight years of scheduling or construction management experience, with a minimum of 4 years directly related to scheduling, or 10+ years’ relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Multi-million- and billion-dollar project experience managing complex schedules and project teams.
  • Experience in a commercial contracting environment preferred.
  • Expert user of Primavera scheduling software, including cost/resource loading and analysis.
  • Solid analytical ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage complex tasks, establish and meet schedules, and maintain focus on goals.
  • Expertise in industry planning and scheduling practices and construction methods.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations and must have ordinary ambulatory skills. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information.
