The Information Technology Project Manager will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects, developing comprehensive and executable plans to drive delivery while providing senior leadership and stakeholders with visibility into status and risks.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed and executable project plans with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, risk and issue mitigation processes, and major milestones; manage approved plans and schedules to ensure successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters.
- Determine and manage tasks, issues, risks, and action items across multiple projects and dynamic priorities; support the team in addressing and eliminating impediments to improve project outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with senior leadership through effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop presentations to communicate plans, status, and risks to senior leaders, clients, and other stakeholders; plan and organize demos and product/system testing.
- Prepare and present status reports to stakeholders; communicate across teams to improve planning and prevent disruptions.
- Use Smartsheet to create project plans, Power BI for budget and actuals reporting, and Jira to facilitate and support all development deliverables.
- Track project processes, deliverables, and financials; escalate negative deviations to budget and proactively initiate change requests.
- Contribute to IT PMO continuous improvement efforts to increase the quality of projects.
- Apply facilitation techniques to ensure effective meetings, both co-located and distributed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field (preferred).
- 3+ years of IT experience in Project Management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adjust to various audiences across business units and client organizations.
- Team player able to adapt to a dynamic working environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused amid distractions.
Qualifications
- PMP Certification (preferred).
- 5+ years of IT experience in Project Management within a large matrixed organization ($20B+).
- 1+ years of experience using Jira for project and issue tracking.
- Solid communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- Evidence of managing Project Plan(s) over 3000 hours adhering to 4/40 or 8/80 rule.
