POSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Technology Project Manager is responsible for leading client engagements, managing multidisciplinary design teams, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring the successful completion of technology consulting projects for public sector clients throughout Minnesota. The ideal candidate brings audiovisual design and engineering expertise supplemented by working knowledge of structured cabling, network infrastructure, and electronic security systems. RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.Lead project meetings, workshops, site visits, and stakeholder coordination sessions.Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and trusted advisory services.Manage client expectations, project priorities, and decision-making processes throughout the project lifecycle.Present project recommendations, budgets, schedules, and findings to executive leadership, school boards, municipal leadership, and other stakeholder groups.Lead multiple concurrent technology and low voltage consulting projects from planning through closeout.Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, work plans, and resource assignments.Track project progress and communicate status, risks, decisions, and action items to clients and internal leadership.Identify and mitigate project risks, scope changes, schedule impacts, and budget concerns.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations.Direct and oversee technology system designers, engineers, drafters, and technical consultants.Assign tasks, establish priorities, and manage workload across project teams.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.Conduct internal design reviews and coordinate interdisciplinary quality control efforts.Facilitate collaboration between security, telecommunications, networking, audiovisual, and infrastructure specialists.Maintain ultimate responsibility for the quality and accuracy of all project deliverables.Review and approve reports, assessments, drawings, specifications, opinion of probable cost estimates, and bid documents before issuance.Ensure deliverables meet client requirements, internal standards, and contractual obligations.Coordinate multidisciplinary reviews to verify completeness, constructability, and consistency.Manage document production and delivery to clients, architects, and procurement teams.Lead technology assessments, master planning, facility studies, and modernization initiatives.Support procurement activities, including RFP development, bid evaluation, vendor interviews, and recommendation reports.Serve as an owner’s representative throughout design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.Provide objective, vendor-neutral recommendations aligned with public procurement requirements.Assist clients with long-term capital improvement planning and technology budgeting. Business Development Duties:Support sales staff in proposal development, interviews, and project pursuits within the Midwest market.Assist in developing project scopes, fee proposals, and staffing plans.Leverage industry relationships to identify opportunities and expand client engagement. General Duties:Maintain administrative tools including time and expense reporting systems and calendar management.Work as a project manager, technical consultant, or supporting team member as assigned.Maintain a professional presence with clients and internal teams.Support continuous improvement of internal processes, workflows, and project delivery standards.Collaborate with team members to resolve project challenges and improve efficiency.Provide regular project updates to leadership as requested.Manage time and expenses responsibly to support project and company efficiency.Contribute to a collaborative team environment aligned with company culture and values.Participate in team meetings and company initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 5 to 7 years of experience managing AV technology or multiple concurrent technology consulting projects, preferably within the public sector.Strong technical expertise in audiovisual design and engineering, supplemented by working knowledge of structured cabling, network infrastructure, and electronic security systems.Experience serving public sector clients such as K–12, higher education, municipal government, and other governmental entities with an understanding of public procurement requirements and decision-making processes.Proven ability to direct and mentor multidisciplinary design teams, including system designers, engineers, drafters, and technical consultants.Strong grounding in project management fundamentals, including scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and risk mitigation.Experience serving as an owner’s representative through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.Industry certifications such as PMP and CTS preferred but not required.Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership, school boards, and municipal leadership.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong presentation, organization, and documentation skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote).Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced environments.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining accountability.Willingness to attend off-hours meetings, site visits, and client events as needed.Ability to travel throughout Minnesota and occasionally stay overnight as required.Eligibility for company motor vehicle coverage and required background clearances.
