About the role
The Senior Project Manager will lead critical capital investments across Georgia-Pacific's Pulp, Power & Recovery (PPR) operations. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and experience managing projects over $15 million.
Responsibilities
- Successfully manage multiple capital projects ($15MM–$150MM+) across full lifecycle (P0–P6)
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management
- Lead cross-functional teams spanning engineering, maintenance, operations, finance, safety, and construction
- Foster alignment across internal stakeholders and external partners; ensure all parties are aligned on project requirements, scope, and deliverables
- Drive FEL development and execution readiness (P0-P3)
- Ensure alignment with mill and business leadership
- Facilitate project reviews, status reporting, executive updates, and stakeholder communications
- Oversee detailed design, contractor coordination, outage execution, and startup (P4-P6)
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Manage and control objective and scope changes
- Deliver projects that meet business case and performance expectations

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related)
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience, with at least 6 years specifically on capital equipment or major construction/capital projects
- Experience managing projects over $15 million
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering and construction teams
- Strong knowledge of project management practices within a phase gate process
Skills
- Experience in pulp & paper, power, or utility systems
- Experience with brownfield capital projects
- Experience with maintenance outages
- Experience with different project execution and project delivery models
- Advanced degree: MBA or Master’s in Engineering
- Advanced credentials: PMP, Professional Engineer, or other relevant certifications
